Working Title - Hunters and Farmers

A traditional grisell "dead layer" underpainting. About 12 hours work over two sessions alla prima. This is the first step in producing the colour study for the full size work.

Update on the Dogs of War

Playing with paint

Just to sharpen the brushes a little I knocked up these two small paintings over the last week. A F-14A Tomcat of VF-211 for a friend
and for a change of pace a Boeing F4B-4 from the pre-war era.
Each painting took about 5 hours and the aircraft each measure about 6 inches. Both were painted Alla Prima ( at first attempt) and Brunaille (executed entirely in shades of brown) - in this case using burnt umber and white over a burnt sienna wash.
